The Latner Thoracic Surgery Laboratories is a multi-PI group with diverse interests including lung transplantation, mesothelioma, and esophageal cancer.
We are seeking a highly motivated computational biologist to analyze large-scale sequencing data from cancer, transplant, and other sources. This individual will work closely with a principal computational biologist, a clinician-scientist, research technicians and clinical research coordinators. Our research group has a strong focus and proven track record for translational research.
The individual will be responsible for designing and performing computational analyses as directed by the principal bioinformatician, investigators or senior staff members. They will primarily maintain and develop computational pipelines for our esophageal adenocarcinoma sequencing program and lung transplant biomarker program. Meticulous record-keeping and documentation of analysis for reproducibility using workflow languages and version control is required. Additional responsibilities will include supervision of junior staff members and students.
The ideal candidate will be meticulous with experimental protocols and documentation, enjoy task-focused work, and have the capabilities to manage their projects independently while assisting other lab members.
