Celestar Corporation is seeking a Research Analyst/Evaluator Level 1 - Paralegal or Equivalent to support the U.S. Department of Commerce, under the E&C Staff Support Services for International Trade Administration/Enforcement & Compliance Contract. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • The Research Analyst/Evaluators (Paralegal or Equivalent) shall possess recent (within the past five years) relevant paralegal experience, or equivalent.
  • Preference given to law students, and those with litigation-specific experience, or a paralegal certificate.

Responsibilities
  • The Research Analyst/Evaluator Level 1 - Paralegal or Equivalent shall monitor the filing of new summons with the U.S. Court of International Trade (CC-TEC receives courtesy copies via a shared email account).
  • Alert appropriate attorney of summons and create litigation entry in record-keeping database in Salesforce.
  • Using Salesforce report function, run reports, as needed by CC-TEC. Using reporting function, periodically (e.g., monthly) identify upcoming litigation deadlines and notify litigation supervisors and relevant attorneys.
  • Assist in maintenance of litigation database by confirming attorneys have completed periodic updates of the database.
  • Draft Notices of Appearance for review by Attorneys.
  • Prepare for filing the administrative record index and other record submissions for each case before the U.S. Court of International Trade.
  • Perform and summarize legal research, as requested by attorneys.
  • Proofread documents and court filings prepared by attorneys for grammatical and formatting errors, cite check filings, and put citations into Bluebook form.
  • Attorneys will draft and edit the substantive content of all court filings.
  • Assist in submission preparation and compiling and filing of record and/or appendices in USMCA binational panel proceedings and WTO disputes.
  • Summarize and prepare other documents and memoranda for internal or external matters as needed in furtherance of litigation.
  • Perform and summarize legal research, as requested by attorneys.
  • Conduct first-level document review of administrative determinations, including initial analysis of legal issues arising in administrative cases, upon request by attorneys. Review to include proofreading documents and cite checking. Attorneys will provide substantive review.
  • Perform other tasks, as needed, in furtherance of CC-TEC’s administrative case work.
