Job Description Job Purpose To support Fastmarkets’ Forest & Agriculture products analytics and forecasting teams through high‑quality data collection, validation and research that underpins market analysis, forecasts and client‑facing products. The Role The Research Analyst – Forest & Agriculture & Agriculture Products is responsible for the collection, cleaning, validation and organisation of fundamental market data across Forest & Agriculture products markets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality, consistency and reliability of the data used in Fastmarkets’ analysis, forecasts and commercial products. You will join a global team of researchers and analysts focused on understanding evolving Forest & Agriculture products markets, including pulp, paper, timber and related value chains. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple datasets and priorities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Core Responsibilities Collect, clean, validate and maintain fundamental Forest & Agriculture products market data, including supply, demand, capacity, costs, trade flows and policy impacts. Conduct primary and secondary research to support datasets and market analysis. Maintain structured databases that support forecasting models and analytical outputs. Monitor regulatory, policy and market developments relevant to Forest & Agriculture products sectors. Provide data inputs and research support to analysts, economists and consulting teams. Contribute data, charts and written inputs to reports, presentations and events. Support continuous improvement of data quality, documentation and process repeatability. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (economics, business, Forest & Agriculture, industrial manufacturing, engineering or related fields). Familiarity or interest in Forest & Agriculture products markets, industrial manufacturing or global commodity value chains. Understanding of fundamental economic and business analysis concepts. Experience in data acquisition through primary and secondary research, with the ability to critically assess data quality. Foundational analytical skills, including working with datasets, basic modelling and statistics. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint). Comfortable working in a diverse, multicultural and global environment. Proactive, pragmatic and resilient with a flexible, problem‑solving mindset. Experience with business analytics or data tools is an advantage.
