Description
The Geriatric Mental Health Services (GMHS) team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is at the forefront of advancing mental health care for older adults. We specialize in inter-professional assessment, treatment, consultation, and follow-up services tailored to the unique needs of this population. By exploring innovative approaches with medications and non-pharmacological treatments, we aim to enhance therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse effects in late-life mental health care. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled fulltime, contract (12 months) Research Analyst to join our team for a one (1) year full-time contract. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in advancing cutting-edge research that makes a tangible difference in the lives of older adults living with cognitive and mental illness. You will be contributing to a body of work that does not just advance scientific knowledge but also shapes the care that people receive during some of the most vulnerable stages of their lives. The candidate will be responsible for a range of activities that include, but are not limited to: Leading recruitment, screening, and consenting of research participants. Scheduling and following up with participants, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience. Conducting research activities in Long-Term Care (LTC) settings across the Greater Toronto Area, including recruitment, data collection, and on-site assessments. Collaborating with LTC staff, residents, and families to support study implementation and ensure protocol compliance and ethical research practices. Assisting participants with procedures such as imaging scans or clinical lab visits. Maintaining and updating research databases and study documentation. Liaising with psychiatrists, care providers, and patients’ families to facilitate research activities. Creating study tools and regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with ethics and safety protocols. Supporting administrative tasks such as regulatory documentation and study amendments. Administering and scoring neuropsychological tests, structured interviews, and clinical scales focused on older adults. Providing regular project updates and contribute to study progress reports. Preparing data for presentations, reports, and peer-reviewed publications. Supporting other research activities and projects, as assigned. This position may involve work across multiple sites, including hospital and community settings, and requires travel within the GTA. Through its core values of Courage, Respect and Excellence, CAMH is implementing its Strategic Plan: Connected CAMH, to transform lives, ignite innovation and discovery, revolutionize education and drive social change. CAMH is more than a hospital, it is a cause. CAMH is on a mission to change the way society thinks about and responds to mental illness.
