Responsibilities

The role is an interesting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual interested in supporting and delivering projects that will help solve current Operational and Non-Financial Risk measurement challenges faced by leading institutions in the global financial services industry.
The individual will contribute to the successful running of ORX’s Risk Measurement research programme. This will involve working as part of a close-knit team to help plan and deliver research projects, engaging with experts in the operational risk measurement field working at ORX member firms.

Research activities include:

  • Benchmarking and best practice collection exercises based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of data provided by ORX member firms.
  • Virtual one-to-one and group discussion calls with risk measurement professionals.
  • In-person events.

The research analyst will contribute to the activities of the Risk Measurement team in the following ways:
1. Engaging with ORX member firms via its Analytics Working Group and CCAR Community. Attending calls, keeping track of conversations and promoting engagement with these groups.
2. Design and build surveys, using tools such as Excel and R to analyse and visualise data which, together with the individual’s strong writing skills, will help us to communicate research findings in coherent and compelling ways.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, along with strong time management and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The role involves engaging with technical financial concepts (e.g., regression, statistical models, financial capital), so confidence in researching and discussing such topics is desirable.
