THE OPPORTUNITY

TMF Foods - Lou’s Kitchen Ltd. is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Research and Development Coordinator to support our research and development team. The ideal candidate will excel at managing multiple projects, tracking progress, and ensuring clear communication across teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role involves coordinating experiments, maintaining accurate data records, preparing technical reports, and supporting the overall workflow of R&D initiatives. This position is a key contributor to the success of our innovation efforts, ensuring that projects remain on schedule, compliant, and well-documented.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in research and development activity within the food industry, with a focus on meat products
  • Creativity and a passion for food
  • Advanced problem-solving and analysis skills
  • Good attitude toward teamwork as well as the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrated time management ability
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Project Management Tools
    Note - pay will be dependent upon experience

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new food products, from ideation to commercialization
  • Lead the scale-up process for new products from laboratory-scale prototypes to full-scale production
  • Maintain thorough records of all R&D activities, including product formulations, testing results, and regulatory compliance documents
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, stakeholders, and other departments on the progress of R&D projects
  • Stay updated on food trends, consumer preferences, and new technologies in the food industry
  • Continuously improve processes, reducing waste, energy use, and inefficiencies in product development
  • Maintain detailed records of research findings, product formulations, and testing results
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring the efficient progression of the development process
  • Develop detailed project plans, including milestones, deliverables, and deadlines. Coordinate cross-functional teams (marketing, production, QA, etc.) to drive successful project outcomes
  • Plan and implement consumer taste tests, focus groups, and sensory evaluations to validate product concepts and gather actionable feedback
