POSITION OVERVIEW:

Contribute to the research and development of medical technologies and devices aimed at improving patient outcomes. The primary focus is to support the Dressing Technology Development team in executing concept development, testing and data analysis of medical devices ensuring they meet high standards of quality. This role involves working on a diverse range of design concepts.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Logical thinking skills: demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data gathered from a variety of sources.
  • Proactive and flexible in adapting to a changing environment and able to balance multiple, competing priorities to meet objectives.
  • Ability to work safely and competently in an R&D laboratory to produce accurate, precise, and valid test data.
  • Scientific capability to understand technical requirements of R&D work and learn new methodologies across a number of scientific disciplines.
  • Ability to comply with GLP/GMP and GDP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
  • Strong interest in wound healing, infection and medical technology

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design, development and testing of new medical devices.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments for research and development of new concepts and existing products.
  • Perform research to provide a foundation of knowledge and apply this to improve experimental design and methodologies.
  • Develop prototypes and new test methods to assess opportunities.
  • Collect, record and analyse laboratory data accurately, using appropriate tools, software and statistical methods to interpret results and draw conclusions.
  • Maintain clear and organized records of experimental procedures, results and observations.
  • Present findings to the team and wider colleagues.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute new ideas for product development.
  • Contribute to the calibration and maintenance of the lab equipment ensuring compliance.
  • Work within a controlled ISO13485 & ISO19001 laboratory quality system and in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)/ Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
  • Follow and adhere to all the EHS policies and principles.
