Research and Development Technician

Prograin is seeking a temporary Research and Development Technician to support its research and development operations, based in Oak Bluff, MB. In close collaboration with the Research and Development Operations Director and the Research and Development Coordinator, you will be a key player in the execution of field operations for the western branch of Prograin’s soybean variety development program. The Research and Development Technician will be an integral member of a diverse team delivering new soybean varieties for Western Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary degree in agriculture or related field (or currently enrolled)
• Previous experience in agricultural field research or row crop production
• Demonstrated ability to work with farm machinery and research field equipment safely and efficiently
• Excellent computer and technological skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent time management, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
• Flexibility to work additional hours (more than 40hours/week), holidays, and weekends during seasonal peak periods
• Ability to perform physical labour and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and their own transportation to and from the work site
• Temporary Position (April to October)
  Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
  Contract length: 6 months
