Role The role of the Knowledge team is to help the firm achieve its strategic objectives by connecting our people with the knowledge they need to perform at their best and deliver for our clients. Under this umbrella, you will be joining our pivotal Research & Information team With 2 opportunities available, both will become trusted research advisors for the Sydney office, with occasional national reach in the role as and when required. Ideally based in Sydney CBD, we can also consider applicants in Melbourne. You will partner closely with both our Legal and Business Development teams to provide research insights that inform client strategy, legal practice, and firm growth. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering timely, high-quality legal and business research using Australian and international sources. Creating clear, actionable reports and insights tailored to both internal and client-facing needs. Supporting decision-making with curated news and current awareness services. Advising on best-practice research strategies and tools, including the use of generative AI. Developing and delivering engaging research training and workshops across the firm. Authoring learning content, including guides and e-learning modules, to uplift research capability. Monitoring legal and market developments to surface emerging trends. Contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of research tools and systems. Leading or supporting small-scale knowledge projects and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Championing the Knowledge function and strengthening internal networks across offices. Who are we looking for? These roles are ideal for professionally mature research professionals with a background in law, information science, or both, who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoy making an impact. We look for naturally curious and client-focused research professionals with a strong interest in the law and the business of law. You will enjoy translating complex information into clear, strategic insights and understand the value of knowledge in driving high-performance legal outcomes. You will also bring: Solid proven experience in legal and business research within a professional services environment Strong analytical writing skills and ability to deliver research that informs strategy and adds value. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision. Proficiency in legal and business research platforms, and the Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with news aggregation and publishing tools. An enthusiasm for emerging technologies, including generative AI. A mindset for continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence across all levels. A natural affinity with technology, and understanding how tools are interwoven, including python, will be looked on favourably A degree in law, information science, or a related field.
