The role of the Research and Innovation Administrator provides a key interface between researchers and the Research and Innovation Department (R&I) at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The potholder will support the set-up of commercial and non-commercial research and co-ordinate the approval process for study amendments, contract reviews and Trust sponsored studies, whilst adhering to ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Trust policies.
The above duties will be achieved alongside the R&I Governance Team to ensure an efficient and streamlined process for study set-up and ongoing research delivery at the Trust.
Management of these projects requires accurate documentation review and tracking until the project files are complete and the projects are approved for opening. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Trust has completed thorough feasibility, is compliant with relevant legislation, research governance requirements and can meet its contractual commitments. This requires close liaison with investigators, research nurses, trial coordinators, service departments and clinicians to ensure the appropriate review and confirmation of research projects.
To coordinate the maintenance of all documentation required in site files, including archiving arrangements
Draft R&I content for the Trust’s website and other channels that is accessible, user-friendly
Log publications and run regular literature searchers researchers with publications
Maintain close communication with researchers so that they are aware of the status of their project
Responsible for the ordering equipment/stationery for the team
Gain effective overview of the Trust’s R&I social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, You Tube and LinkedIn
Support the R&I team with the yearly conference and other events within the R&I calendar
Supporting R&I Governance Lead with research drop-in sessions
Familiarise yourself with the clinical research management system ( EDGE) in order to help maintain research study activity data, build specific data reports for the department and uploading study document on EDGE
Ensure that the information for the research projects is recorded and uploaded to local management systems and made available to appropriate research delivery teams
Support the R&I coordinator with reviewing research project information held on Trust systems and update information as required
Complete any empty data fields within EDGE and ensure regular data cleanses within EDGE
May from time to time be required to support the clinical team with organising couriers and ensuring samples are sent to the correct labs
