RESEARCH AND KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE OFFICER (PART-TIME)

Job description

6 MONTH FIXED TERM

We are seeking a candidate for the role of RKE Research Officer in the Research Office.
The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and experience of Research and Knowledge Exchange. Experience in supporting pre and post award of grants, income generation and a good understanding of research culture and processes, including research governance are important for the role.
Applicants should demonstrate experience of working with a range of research funding councils, grant providers and charities including a good understanding of costing and pricing requirements for different agencies; and demonstrate an understanding of full economic costing and cost management and recovery.

The successful candidate will play an active role in supporting research management and the development of third-stream income which includes research and knowledge exchange income including other duties as outlined in the Job Description. Duties will include:

  • Supporting academic staff with preparing external funding applications and providing ‘post-award’ administrative support with grant management.
  • Administering and managing power automate flows and power BI reports pertaining to Research services management .
  • Supporting academic staff with impact generating activities.
  • Supporting the administration of our Research Excellence Framework submission.
  • Supporting operational Research Ethics Committees, including providing administrative support in relation to the ethics approval system.
  • Internal data collection, analysis and reporting on research activity.

The candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines and to manage their own workload with some directed support.
Applicants with Power Automate, Power BI experience or any systems knowledge relating to Microsoft SaaS systems are especially welcomed.
