Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) is excited to invite applications for the part-time, contract position of a Research and Project Coordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team that harnesses the transformative power of dance for all ages and abilities.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

Reporting to both the Director, Research and Health, and the Director, Business Operations and Government Relations, the Research and Project Coordinator supports the coordination and execution of a national, government-supported project and the research of dance programming for older adults in various community settings in Nova Scotia and the North West Territories. Canada’s National Ballet School has been developing, supporting, and researching dance opportunities for older adults, including people living with dementia for over a decade. As a newly designated research institute, this position will support the ongoing development of NBS’ research endeavours and may be expanded should additional research opportunities develop. The position functions within a fast-paced, demanding office environment and encompasses a wide range of assigned duties, from administrative and operational support roles to the coordination, evaluation and research of community-based dance programming for older people and people living with dementia in the North West Territories and Nova Scotia.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Coordination and Execution

  • Work closely with project team members; support the successful execution of the project on time and budget
  • Track and process project expenses
  • Administrative tasks related to project coordination (e.g. meeting bookings, disseminating meeting agendas and minutes, booking travel arrangements, etc)
  • Organize site visits for NBS staff and training sessions in the North West Territories and Nova Scotia
  • Coordinate dance programs preparations at partner sites
  • Respond to inquiries about the project
  • Support communication with project partners
