EDUCATIONAL/PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- An undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Business/Economics or related field;
- Capital markets and related experience is an asset and;
- Experience with FactSet, Thomson Eikon and Croesus or Dataphile considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
HOW DOES THE ROLE IMPACT THE ORGANIZATION?
We manage discretionary model portfolios on behalf of our clients and the Research and Trading Specialist will be an integral part of the portfolio management team. Individuals in this role are continuously learning and developing the skills required for investment analysis and securities evaluation in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. To be successful, you must be disciplined and have a passion for capital markets and investments.
WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Work with the portfolio management team in conducting thorough analysis of an industry and targeted companies;
- Involvement in conducting due diligence including analyzing industry and company data, macro data, developing and maintaining financial models, writing research, and verbal presentations to Plena Wealth Advisors investment committee;
- Generate investment and trade ideas for the portfolios;
- Effectively communicate investment ideas and sector/industry knowledge to the financial advisors on the team;
- Analyzing industry and research reports;
- Keeping up to date on news flow and market moving events;
- Analyze quarterly earnings and other company reports;
- Assist trader with managing debit balances and bulk trading across mandates
