Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Professor Brian Leung)

Position Summary:

• Literature searches in the field of environment and ecology.
• Data processing such as extracting and cleaning data in R.
• Assist with interpreting, and analyzing ranges and occurrence points from GBIF and the IUCN for invasive species globally, with the goal of better understanding and predicting biological invasions.
• Assist with the preparation of figures and power point presentations.
• Assist with manuscript preparation and formatting.
• Assist with coding in the R programming language.
• Assist with economic modeling using General Equilibrium Models.
• Assist on a project where the world bank database has been used to cluster socioeconomic variables into different drivers by helping to define the projects direction and refine and clean the output.

Qualifications:

• Good writing and computer skills.

Education/Experience:

• Undergraduate experience in environment and in economics.

Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.
