Hiring Unit:
Mechanical Engineering Department
The Research Assistant 2, will be working closely with one of our department professors on Computational Modelling of Tires for Off-Road Vehicles.
The main tasks of the Research Assistant will include the development and implementation of algorithms for modelling and simulation of wheels and tires interacting with deformable terrain. This will particularly involve the modelling of the structural deformation of the tires.
The Key responsibilities will involve the development and documentation of models, and the development and implementation of the related algorithms in C++.

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering with a strong emphasis on computational mechanics
  • The understanding of the absolute nodal coordinate formulation, solid knowledge of the principles of dynamics and off-road vehicles.
  • Working-level knowledge of C++ as well as advanced skills in computer programming and algorithm design are required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
