Case Western Reserve University is committed to providing a transparent estimate of the salary for this position at the time of its posting. The starting wage rate is $22.13 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 3 to 5 years of related experience required.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree required. Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and maintain trust with study participants.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in REDCap for data entry and management.
  • Familiarity with online financial tools such as CashApp for processing participant payments.
  • Empathetic and culturally sensitive approach to interacting with different populations.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other common software tools.
  • Ability to regularly use Google Chat for team communication and collaboration.
  • Must attend weekly grant meetings to stay updated on the study’s progress and objectives.
  • Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest.

  • Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate laboratory/ research activities. Conduct all phone interviews with study participants to collect personal and sensitive information, ensuring data quality and maintaining confidentiality. Input interview data directly and accurately into the REDCap database. Adhere to all IRB data and patient safety protocols, especially in recording any adverse events reported during the interviews. (30%)
  • Work closely with the principal investigator and project manager to discuss the status of each study participant and resolve any issues promptly. (20%)
  • Carry out complex research assignments regarding participant project milestones. Process participant compensation for completing surveys and dietary recalls using CashApp or other online financial tools. Maintain all financial records regarding payments. Assist participants in selecting $50 worth of mom or baby gifts post-birth, ensuring timely ordering and delivery. Manage gift inventory and coordinate deliveries. May monitor budget. (15%)
  • Devise new protocols and techniques for research projects involving a high degree of skill and training specifically pertaining to efficiency and tracking of study participants, data collection and analysis. May co-author research projects. (10%)
  • Evaluate adequacy of protocols and techniques to ensure new and preexisting procedures and data analysis are best practice by the standards of the study and IRB. (10%)
  • Document all aspects of participant interactions and study processes, maintaining meticulous records to ensure compliance with research protocols. (10%)

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support additional administrative tasks as needed to facilitate the study. Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)
