ABOUT THE ROLE
The Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI) is one of the seven global challenge institutes at Imperial College. Housed within the Faculty of Medicine, the Institute is well placed to leverage the College’s wealth of multidisciplinary talent to innovate across science, technology, design and policy. By doing so, the Institute’s goal is to develop evidence-based, cutting-edge solutions to the issues faced by healthcare systems and to create transformational improvement in the quality and equity of patient care, population health and wellbeing. The Institute attracts a strong cohort of students and scholars across its educational and academic programmes and continues to advance a broadening research agenda, through its five interdisciplinary centres of excellence. One of which is the recently awarded National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration (NWL PSRC). The PSRC is made up of four research themes. The advertised post will support Theme 4: ‘Evaluating and integrating patient safety in the design of new service delivery models’.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
As a core member of the Centre, you will aim to make a real-world impact on the safety of care given to patients globally. Your responsibilities will include to conduct and support of research projects on topics of relevance for the theme, with a specific focus assessing the safety of new service delivery models, particularly those leveraging on digital innovation.
As a Research Assistant/Associate at Theme 4, you will be expected to engage in collaborations across themes and identify funding opportunities. You will provide expertise in quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed-methods research. You will assist with data analysis, writing of reports and academic projects, and presenting findings to colleagues and stakeholders. The role will also include contributing to the Institute’s educational offerings.
