The Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences calls for applications for a position as a
research assistant from 1 May 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position as research assistant is a fixed-term scientific position of 6 months.
Are you interested in the health and welfare of livestock? If you have robust hands-on experience with immunological laboratory techniques and experience with troubleshooting, optimization of laboratory protocols and generation of data, we can offer a challenging job in a dynamic research environment.
The successful applicant will be placed in the research unit Gut and Host Health.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant university master’s degree
• Good theoretical background in immunology
• Robust experience with immunological laboratory techniques and data analysis (qPCR/PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry etc.)
• Robust experience in scientific publication
• Skills and interest in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Skills and interest in research with continuation in a possible PhD degree programme

• Transcriptome analysis of relevant immunological genes in samples from existing biobank
• Molecular genotyping and determination of tissue type in blood samples
• Functional immunological assays and cell culturing
• Analysis of “systems immunology” datasets (flow cytometry)
• Contribute to carrying out animal experiments
• Contribute to publications and other relevant communication
