Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • $85K- $96K plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
  • Fixed Term – 12 months
  • Full-time (35 hours per week)
    The role reports to the Head of School, Professor Brett Molesworth and has no direct reports.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Attend research meetings.
  • Respond to routine enquiries relating to research.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in the preparation of ethics and grant applications, abstracts, annual and progress reports.
  • Undertake unsupervised research support tasks consistent with established methodologies (may include lab or field work).
  • Perform data collection, entry, and analysis.
  • Maintain research databases, records and publication registers.
  • Conduct statistical data reporting.
  • Recruit study participants.
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policy and procedures of the University and take all reasonable care to ensure your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself and others.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Applied Science such as Psychology, Aviation or other transport area.
  • Prior experience supporting a research project.
  • Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrated computing skills including word processing (MS word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), and statistical analysis packages (SPSS).
  • Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
