Overview:
Join a collaborative team at the Clinical Trials Unit of Benaroya Research Institute (BRI), where your work will directly support cutting-edge clinical research in partnership with Virginia Mason physicians. Our studies focus on a variety of specialties including Neurology, Asthma/Allergy, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease and COVID-19 research.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of clinical trials across various phases of development. You will be part of a supportive, team-oriented environment with unparalleled support from our physicians, clinic staff, and dedicated study teams. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our Clinical Research Coordinators in executing high-quality research protocols.
The work schedule may vary – it is typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
Responsibilities:

Administrative and Research Support

  • Assist in study start-up processes
  • Maintain and organize regulatory documents
  • Collect and track financial disclosure forms
  • Schedule study participants and manage calendars
  • Complete case report forms (CRFs) accurately and on time
  • Transport study materials (test articles) between the pharmacy and patient areas (approx. 50–70% of role)

Clinical and Participant Interaction

  • Conduct blood draws, take vitals, and perform EKGs
  • Process and aliquot biological samples
  • Support participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling
  • Assist with study-specific testing and data collection, including questionnaires and specialty exams (approx. 30–50% of role)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and multitask in a fast-paced research environment
  • Prior experience in healthcare or clinical research is preferred

Compensation:
$21.69 to $30.14 per hour
