Description
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with MIT-RAISE, co-created the Al Education for Students Project. With funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, it aims to cultivate AI literacy and competencies in students, empowering them to learn more effectively, use technology more discerningly, innovate more creatively, hence better prepared for the future workplace and society. The Project engages schools to provide equitable access to quality AI learning for students in Hong Kong. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Information Technology, or related disciplines; (ii) experience in building AI applications, including working with large language models, prompt engineering, or integrating ML models into web platforms; (iii) solid experience in full-stack or backend development, including Python or Node.js, and comfort with API development; (iv) familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience with frameworks such as React or Vue.js is an advantage; (v) hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JMeter, Robot Framework) and familiarity with security and performance testing methodology; (vi) experience with version control (e.g., Git) for code management and collaboration; (vii) strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills; (viii) the ability to communicate effectively in English (proficiency in Chinese is a plus); and (ix) self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Applicants with (1) background in EdTech, K–12 curriculum, or developing tools for teachers/students; (2) experience with Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM service providers; and (3) understanding of AI safety and age-appropriate content guidelines will be advantageous. The appointee will be responsible for (a) designing and developing generative AI tools across subjects such as mathematics, science, languages, and humanities; (b) building interactive learning features such as AI tutors, practice generators, writing assistants, and scenario simulators. Implementing subject-specific prompts, logic workflows, and safe-guardrails for educational use; (c) conducting functional testing, safety testing, and output quality evaluation; (d) developing automated test scripts; (e) troubleshooting issues, refining prompts, and improving tools accuracy and reliability; (f) collaborating with educators to validate pedagogical soundness; (g) deploying tools to the generative AI platform using modern DevOps processes; (h) monitoring AI tools performance, performing maintenance, and providing technical support to internal teams and partner schools; (i) preparing documentation for tool behaviours, architecture, deployment workflows, and user guidelines; and (j) performing any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
