Description
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with MIT-RAISE, co-created the Al Education for Students Project. With funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, it aims to cultivate AI literacy and competencies in students, empowering them to learn more effectively, use technology more discerningly, innovate more creatively, hence better prepared for the future workplace and society. The Project engages schools to provide equitable access to quality AI learning for students in Hong Kong. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines; (ii) at least two years' experience in full-stack web development; (iii) solid experience in frontend technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as Vue.js or React; (iv) proficiency in at least one major framework such as Django, Spring, or Gin, and a good understanding of server-side logic and API development; (v) familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for code/config management and team collaboration; (vi) self-motivation, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in teams; (vii) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (viii) experience with AI applications, such as integrating machine learning models into web platforms, working with LLM APIs, or building intelligent features, is a strong advantage. Fresh graduates with exceptional project portfolios will also be considered. The appointee will be responsible for (a) implementing features on an online platform for generative AI education, including development, testing, systems maintenance and support; (b) designing, building, and optimising full-stack web applications using modern frameworks; (c) containerising applications via Docker and managing deployment pipelines; (d) handling system issues and providing technical support to Project Schools and the teams; (e) documenting system architectures and codebases; and (f) performing any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
