Description
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with MIT-RAISE, co-created the Al Education for Students Project. With funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, it aims to cultivate AI literacy and competencies in students, empowering them to learn more effectively, use technology more discerningly, innovate more creatively, hence better prepared for the future workplace and society. The Project engages schools to provide equitable access to quality AI learning for students in Hong Kong. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Artificial Intelligence/Computer Science/other Engineering disciplines/Education/ Business Administration/Communications; (ii) a strong understanding of emerging technologies in STEAM education, with familiarity in AI concepts and their application in educational contexts; (iii) excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively engage with teachers and students; (iv) great enthusiasm for a successful career in AI Education and a commitment to fostering 21st-century skills in young learners; (v) a collaborative work attitude, self-motivation, and a strong sense of commitment; and (vi) proficiency in Cantonese, with fluency in English and Putonghua. The following attributes/qualifications are desirable: (1) prior experience in teaching experience is an advantage. Additional qualifications, such as a PGDE, are highly desirable; (2) a strong grasp of artificial intelligence knowledge (e.g. deep learning, transformer); (3) proficiency in programming (e.g. Python, C/C++, Java); and (4) experience in developing/training/applying AI models. The appointee will be responsible for (a) engaging with various subject teachers to hold regular meetings and assess training needs; (b) coordinating those meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration; (c) supporting the development of training materials and organizing training sessions to facilitate effective delivery throughout the studentship lifecycle; (d) evaluating the effectiveness of training programs to ensure they equip students with necessary skills and knowledge for future challenges; (e) liaising with internal and external parties to build strong connections and networks among the Project, local primary and secondary schools, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
