Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to join our Experimental Therapeutics / Molecular Oncology team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will support cutting-edge translational research focused on high-risk childhood cancers, including leukaemia and neuroblastoma. You will primarily perform in vivo drug efficacy studies and support in vitro experiments, contributing to the discovery of novel targeted therapies and immunotherapeutics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, conduct, and analyse in vivo drug efficacy studies using cancer models (e.g., xenografts, transgenic models)
  • Assist in development and validation of new animal research models
  • Investigate biomarkers for drug efficacy and resistance mechanisms using molecular profiling
  • Maintain laboratory records, inventories, and contribute to regulatory compliance (ethics and WHS)
  • Train new research staff in animal handling and experimental techniques
  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers to support translational objectives
  • Present data, participate in lab meetings, and contribute to publications
