JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, resourceful Research Assistant to support our business development and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying relevant Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and grant opportunities related to professional learning for public school teachers, and for researching contact information for homeschool and public-school parents to support outreach and marketing efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong research skills with experience using a variety of sources (government and private funding websites, grant databases, educational directories, AI, etc.).
  • Ability to identify credible and current information.
  • Familiarity with the public education system and homeschool networks.
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, and online research tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in math and professional learning for grades 4-12.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and private funding for education.
  • Prior work researching leads or developing outreach lists.
Responsibilities
  • Identify education-related RFPs and grants at the federal, state, and local levels, with a focus on professional development and teacher training including deadlines, eligibility criteria, and key contacts.
  • Identify, compile and maintain a spreadsheet of relevant private funding opportunities with a focus on professional development and teacher training including deadlines, eligibility criteria, and key contacts.
  • Identify and compile contact lists of public school and homeschool parent organizations, groups, and individual contacts, with an emphasis on accuracy and relevance.
  • Utilize databases, government websites, forums, social media groups, and other tools to gather information.
  • Present research findings in a clear, organized format (e.g., spreadsheets, reports).
