JOB DETAILS
The laboratory of Dr. Jianping Li (jianpinglilab.com) at Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) is seeking a highly motivated research assistant to join our team. Dr. Li’s lab focuses on the role of chromatin regulators and immune interaction in blood cancers, especially in the initiation of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and lymphoma, relapse, and chemotherapy resistance. We explore mutant chromatin regulators-driven phenotype and molecular mechanisms using cell lines, conditional mouse models, patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), and cutting-edge technologies such as CUT&RUN, ChIP-Seq, single-cell RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, Hi-C, proteomics, drug screening, flow cytometry and sorting, and CRISPR editing and screening (Nature Communications 2017, Cancer Discovery 2022, and Nature Chemical Biology 2024).

Eligibility Requirements: We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic research assistant with at least a master’s degree in bioinformatics and computational biology, genetics and epigenetics, or related fields. The candidate should have a strong interest in one of the following basic and translational research areas related to chromatin regulation, cancer epigenetics, stem cell biology, immune interaction, and developing targeted therapy. We are expecting you to join our energetic group, get excellent training, and seek a PhD degree. Qualified candidates should send their curriculum vitae and contact information of three professional references to Dr. Jianping Li (Jianping.li@jefferson.edu).
Institute: Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) at Jefferson is recognized as high performing in cancer care by U.S. News & World Report and is designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for excellence in cancer care, prevention measures, and research. The NCI-designated SKCCC at TJU is home to national thought leaders across multiple cancer research disciplines and multi-institutional collaborations, announcing the expansion and deepening of hematologic malignancy research with the Blood Cancer Center of Excellence (BCCE). Our faculty lead paradigm-shifting research into the initiation and progression of cancers, as well as resistance mechanisms and potential target therapies. Here, researchers work collaboratively across multiple departments and specialties to address some of the greatest complications in healthcare.
