We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly assist the research team in a research project "A Novel Vision Transformer-Based Neural Network for Image Classification and Jet Tagging in Lepton-Flavor Violating Processes" (R6860). He / She will be responsible mainly for the following: Collecting and preprocessing data for machine learning model training; Developing AI models, both by adapting existing frameworks and building architectures from scratch; Evaluating and benchmarking model performance; Conducting literature reviews by searching and synthesizing recent journal articles; and Performing any other research or administrative duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator(s) or Supervisor(s). Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A master’s degree or above in Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline (for Research Assistant I); A bachelor’s degree or above in Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline (for Research Assistant II); Good command of written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is preferred, while knowledge of Cantonese and Putonghua is not essential; Proven experience in deep learning model development, including designing neural network architectures from scratch, is essential; Solid foundational knowledge of Python programming is required; high proficiency will be a distinct advantage; A basic understanding of high-energy physics will be an advantage; and Prior research experience with CERN or other particle collider experiments will be considered an absolute advantage.
