HJF is seeking a Research Assistant I to perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. The Research Assistant provides laboratory and technical support to senior technical and professional staff and solves less complex problems in carrying out research projects in a laboratory environment. This is the first of four levels within the Research Assistant series.
This position will be in support of Limb Optimization and Osseointegration Program (LOOP).
The Limb Optimization and Osseointegration Program (LOOP) located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD, was initiated in 2015 and with the goal of advancing the field of osseointegration as a capability within the Military Health System (MHS). Osseointegration (direct skeletal attachment of prosthetic limbs) has the potential of delivering improved functionality and quality of life to patients with major limb amputations. Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is the lead surgical institution to examine and advance osseointegration capabilities into the MHS to benefit our combat veterans and other beneficiaries.
