JOB SUMMARY
Works under general direction to provide responsible and skilled technical assistance in performing assignments requiring experience and good knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of medical and scientific research.
The Lee Lab in the Departments of Pediatrics and Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic causes of vascular health and disease. We are seeking a motivated scientist interested in using cutting-edge techniques to study human disease in a collaborative environment. The Research Assistant will support projects utilizing human cell culture and mouse models, using techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, CRISPR editing, and more. The candidate will have opportunities to grow and lead independent projects, culminating in co-authorship and presentations at scientific meetings.
A degree in biological sciences with a strong foundation in cellular/molecular biology and genetics is preferred.
