SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this Research Assistant II position is to support the Huo lab, which is interested in utilizing in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models to study vascular calcification and develop innovative treatment strategies for this condition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in basic science or a related field.
  • Sufficient knowledge and skill in both vascular cell biology and bone biology.

Responsibilities
  • Designs in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo research experiments, selects and determines appropriate research procedures, and performs these designed experiments.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data from those models, as well as documents and interprets results of experiments from those models.
  • Reports research activities to principal investigators.
  • Communicates with lab staff and assigns activities to the proper staff.
  • Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
  • Learn and become proficient with handling reagent orders and services of various cores at the BCM, as well as communicating with other labs regarding various issues.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
