Description

A position focused on development of a novel Time Series Management System (TSMS) is available at the Data Engineering, Science and Systems (DESS) group at the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. The position is available for a flexible starting date around 1st June 2025. The position is initially for 19 months, with the possibility of extension up to 3 years in total after mutual consent.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master and bachelor degrees in computer science or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent communication skills in English, oral as well as written
  • Good low-level software development skills, e.g., in C, C++, and/or Rust
  • Experience with the Rust programming language
  • Experience with time series compression(lossy and lossless)
    Applicants with an excellent scientific background and publication record and experience with ModelarDB will be preferred.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The required level of qualifications is at master level.
Appointment to Research Assistant may be for a period of up to three years. Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Responsibilities
  • Participate in the 6G-XCEL research project
  • Perform excellent scientific research
  • Develop research prototypes and conduct experiments
  • Integrate the proposed methods with or in ModelarDB
  • Publish in leading international conferences and journals
  • Participate in activities of the group and the department
    Some teaching within the educations offered by the Department of Computer Science can be expected.
