Description

We are seeking a Research Assistant who will support the execution of the study’s two primary aims: (1) quantifying geographic availability of Medicaid-accepting facilities offering MCS in high-deprivation areas, and (2) examining utilization of MCS among Medicaid enrollees with SUD using national claims data.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Stata and/or R for data management and modeling.
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) or drive-time calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree (or advanced coursework) in public health, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, sociology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with Medicaid data (especially TAF).
  • Knowledge of health disparities, behavioral health services, or social determinants of health.
  • Experience preparing data and results for peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  • Experience working with large administrative claims datasets or federal survey data.
