Description

We are seeking a casual Research Assistant who will work under the direct supervision of a Research Associate. The Research Assistant will primarily assist with the day-to-day logistical and operational tasks for the SHIELD and BEEHIVE studies. The position requires office-based and remote work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to participants’ homes.
  • Availability to work weekends to coach participants to complete the breathing test at home.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in consenting participants for research studies, complete data collection, and conduct follow-up activities for the SHIELD study, BEEHIVE study and sub-studies.
  • Conduct data collection including administering questionnaires, data collection from a breathing test, recording oral exam results, traveling to homes of research participants to drop off and set up air monitoring devices, frailty assessment devices and coordinating sample collection at labs in the Johns Hopkins Hospital and at a community clinic.
  • Perform follow-up activities which include communicating with participants to provide technical support for home-based devices, tracking participants to obtain updated contact information, scheduling follow-up visits.
  • Follow established research protocols and complete required trainings.
  • Responsible for data entry of collected data and ensuring safety and security of data.
  • Work closely with the Research Program Coordinator to ensure completion of all research related activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
