Description
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Research Assistant or Junior Research Assistant to contribute to neuroscience projects aimed at understanding cognitive and affective dysfunction in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and training protocol development. Applicants should have/be (i) a BSc degree or above, preferably in Engineering/Computer Science/Statistics/Psychology or related disciplines; (ii) programming skills/experience and the ability to analyse behavioural and imaging data using MATLAB (experience in software development is a plus); (iii) responsible, organised, efficient, and self-motivated; (iv) strong curiosity and problem-solving skills; and (v) proficient in English and good communication skills (fluency in Cantonese is a plus). Candidates with research experience and knowledge in both psychology, programming (MATLAB/Python), and machine learning will be an advantage. The appointee will be responsible for (a) subject recruitment; (b) collecting, managing, and analysing EEG data; (c) assisting in research studies design, including neurofeedback training protocol and software development; (d) disseminating research findings through presentations and publications; and (e) performing other tasks as assigned.
