The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programs, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. Through our research programmes, which include global and population health, neuroscience and mental health, regenerative medicine, respiratory and infectious disease, and metabolic, skin and microbiome health, we are addressing some of the world’s most pressing healthcare issues, with a strong focus on Asian populations and importantly Singaporeans.
Our laboratory helmed by Assoc Prof Foo Jia Nee (Assoc Prof of Neurogenetics) focuses on the genomics of neurological diseases and functional characterization of neurological disease-associated risk genes.
We are recruiting a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our laboratory at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Novena campus). This role will focus on research (bench work) and administrative support in our study to functionally characterise Parkinson’s disease-associated risk genes. This study is led by Dr Elaine Chew and supported by a NMRC OF-YIRG grant. The role will be based mainly at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Novena campus) with some experiments to be conducted at the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR, Biopolis.
