If you are interested in working in an interdisciplinary, highly motivated team and the academic exploration of a topic of high practical relevance, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Completed scientific university degree in the field of chemistry, physics, materials science or comparable disciplines, which gives access to the corresponding qualification level
  • Fundamental and practical knowledge and experience in at least four of the fields of (in situ) magnetic methodology, magnetic nanomaterials, magnetic anisotropy, electrochemical mechanisms, magneto-ionics, electrochemically switchable materials, hydrogen electrochemistry, ferromagnetic transition metals, properties of transition metal oxides
  • Publications in renowned scientific journals, presentation activities
  • Experience in interdisciplinary scientific work
  • Very good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a team, reliability and sense of responsibilit
Responsibilities
  • Independent research work on the synthesis and electrochemical switching of magnetic nanostructures, especially toward voltage-tunable magneto-ionic 3D nanowire assemblies or heterostructures with tailored magnetic anisotropy, characterization using electrochemical and (in situ) magnetic methods, but also using other physico-chemical methods available at the Institutes of Chemistry and Physics at Chemnitz University of Technology
  • Scientific supervision and further development of magnetic in situ analysis methods (in situ MOKE, in situ VSM) in combination with electrochemical cells
  • Preparation of high-quality scientific publications and presentation of research results at national and international specialist conferences
  • Scientific collaboration with external cooperation partners
  • Participation in outreach activities for the communication of scientific results
    You will use your research results for scientific publications and your own qualification. This is a position for further scientific qualification.
