Description
The Department of Paediatrics in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator.
This is a recurring part time position with variable hours. Recurring part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Generate various reports as required by Principal Investigator and research team
  • Assisting with developing communication materials for team and community knowledge user activities (e.g., presentation slides, notes, policy reports, infographics, social media)
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other research material for various audiences including academic, stakeholders, and general public
  • Prepare technical documents, including creating tables and charts using templates
  • Assisting with quantitative and qualitative analysis of data collection
  • Management of participant follow-up, including participant survey reminders, responding to mail/email, and updating participant protocols

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree in a related field required. Master’s degree in a related field of study, preferred (e.g. health research, health promotion, public health, community health)
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with statistical analyses and familiarity with statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, and R is an asset
  • Experience with survey develop or programming is an asset
  • Experience with data cleaning and preparation is an asset
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and time management skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to problem solve in complex situations
