Further information about the School is available at: https://sphpc.cuhk.edu.hk/ The School is seeking outstanding candidates for Research Assistant Professorship. Applicants should possess the following qualifications: Education: A doctoral degree by research (Ph.D. or equivalent) in public health, epidemiology, statistics, mathematics, computer science, artificial intelligence or related disciplines, with a proven track record in mathematical transmission modelling and infectious disease epidemiology. Skills and experience: Expertise in analysing large and complex datasets and integrating artificial intelligence in public health research is essential, as evidenced by publication records in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate their research interest in common infections in vulnerable healthcare settings, such as antimicrobial resistance, COVID-19 and influenza, with a strong academic track record. Excellence in written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by a track record in disseminating research findings to the public. Competency in managing large-scale study cohorts would be an advantage. Commitment: A strong dedication to research excellence and mentorship, and a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit The appointee is expected to (i) take up a leading role to oversee and coordinate ongoing independent and collaborative research projects; (ii) initiate independent and collaborative research projects; (iii) generate peer-reviewed publications; (iv) apply for competitive research grants; (v) supervise junior staff and students; (vi) undertake teaching duties; and (vii) handle operational and administrative duties. Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance, funding availability and mutual agreement.
