Department/ Unit: Department of Computer Science and Engineering Closing Date: February 28, 2026 The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking outstanding candidates for a Research Assistant Professorship (RAP) in the area of Artificial Intelligence for Electronic Design Automation. Applicants with expertise in the following areas are particularly welcome: ● Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning ● AI-driven Electronic Design Automation ● Analog and Digital IC Design Automation ● Physical Design and Logic Design Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline; (ii) strong research records demonstrated by publications in top-tier conferences and high-impact journals (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, DAC); (iii) substantial postdoctoral or equivalent research experience in relevant areas; (iv) strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching; and (v) excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative research projects will be an advantage. The appointee will (a) apply for external research grants as Principal Investigator or Project Coordinator on a regular basis; (b) develop and participate in independent and collaborative research projects in AI for EDA; (c) coordinate research activities and publish peer-reviewed papers; and (d) be involved in teaching, student supervision, and related administrative duties. The appointment will normally be made on a contract basis for up to three years.
