Department/ Unit: Department of Medicine and Therapeutics Closing Date: Until the post is filled The Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking a motivated candidate for the position of Research Assistant Professor (RAP). The RAP is expected to perform multi-omics analyses to investigate the roles of the gut microbiome and metabolites in cancer development. Applicants should have i) PhD related to human diseases with strong background of bioinformatics and molecular biology; ii) Experience in multi-omics (genomics, metagenomics, metabolomics, proteomics and transcriptomics, single-cell sequencing) data processing and integrated analysis; iii) Track record of productivity supported by first-author publications in high-impact journals, international patents, translational outputs and grants awarded; and iv) Outstanding writing and communication skills, with ability to work both independently and within collaborative teams productively. The appointee will be expected to a) lead a team for designing and performing bioinformatics; b) perform data analysis to characterize the causality between gut microbiota and cancer; and c) supervise PhD students. Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for one to two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to performance, funding availability and mutual agreement.
