Department/ Unit: The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care Closing Date: Until the post is filled The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is one of the recognized schools of public health in the Asia Pacific region with extensive research links to China, Europe and North America. The School is now inviting applications for Research Assistant Professorship. The candidate will work on a wide range of research topics from traditional epidemiological studies to artificial intelligence for healthcare big data, including electronic health records, data from open-source platforms, and digital records from portable devices. We encourage multidisciplinary research and collaboration across academic departments, so the candidate should be open-minded for any challenge from interdisciplinary research. Applicants should have: (i) a relevant PhD in Public Health, Health Science, Statistics, or other relevant disciplines; (ii) a strong commitment to excellence in research; (iii) outstanding accomplishments and research potential; and (iv) an excellent command of English and a good command of Chinese (including fluency in Cantonese). Research emphasis will be on the following research areas: - Data-driven analytics to support healthcare decisions; - Health systems models for epidemiological research; - Trend analysis for historical disease records; - Evidence-based medicine with online resources for disease management. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
