Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Marine Science, Ecology, or other related disciplines, preferably with one to two years of work experience; (ii) good computer skill with knowledge of Microsoft Office; (iii) strong communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external parties; (iv) excellent command of both spoken and written Chinese and English; (v) the ability to work independently with analytical ability; and (vi) strong interest in coral and marine organisms related conservation or education work. Experience in conducting educational work or certification in scuba diving is highly preferred. Candidates with an Associate degree may be considered for appointment as Junior Research Assistant(s). Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply. The appointee will assist in the organisation of programmes for secondary schools and other educational programmes. Duties include (a) delivering educational talks on marine and coral conservation; (b) planning and hosting workshops or activities related to marine and coral conservation; (c) liaising with different parties, organisations or stakeholders; (d) supporting the management of budgets and finance of different programmes; (e) drafting, coordinating and supporting the output of educational materials; (f) managing social media accounts related to marine and coral conservation; and (g) other duties as assigned by supervisor. The appointee may occasionally be required to work on weekends or outdoors. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
