Description
The advent of 3D printing technology enables surgeons to plan surgeries with multi-planar corrections preoperatively, bringing the plan into intraoperative execution accurately. Recent studies have shown that 3D planning and 3D printing technologies could improve the intraoperative time, recovery time and the accuracy of surgery. The appointee(s) will be working on the project involving the development of an AI assisted web based surgical planning platform for surgeons. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s or a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, Mechanical design, Automation Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese; and (iii) the ability to document project plans and reports. Having at least one year's post-qualification experience is preferred. Background in 3D Printing and 3D design, and experience in software development and AI would be advantageous. Duties include (a) providing assistance in writing documents, papers and reports; (b) conducting clinical trials and data analysis; (c) medical image manipulation; and (d) other research and technical activities as assigned. Irregular working hours may be required. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
