JOB DESCRIPTION
Research Assistant, Sr will work in the Cherrington Lab, in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics. The lab is involved in the study of diabetes, glycogenolysis, gluconeogenesis, and metabolism using a large animal model.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or Biotechnology , 5 years lab experience necessary.
Familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint necessary.
Ability to accept instruction and supervision and follow directions and lab protocols.
Attention to detail is necessary.
Working well with others is necessary.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, as well as basic computer skills are necessary.
Able to prepare chemical solutions.
Familiarity and proficiency with a wide range of sample analysis methods.
Conduct various molecular assays.
Perform various analyses related to experiments.
Run our robotic analyzer independently
and learn to troubleshoot problems with it.
Recommend and consult with PI’s on assay modifications, improvements and implement them.
Prepare solutions, data entry in Excel spreadsheets, etc.
General lab work.
Be proficient and capable of ordering lab supplies.
