DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION STUDIES Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant (Full Time) (25260747) We are looking for a research assistant or senior research assistant who has knowledge and experience in conducting research in the fields of technology-based health communication and media psychology to join research projects on mental health promotion. Responsibilities: The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to support both research and administrative functions of the projects. * Support all matters related to the main research project on narrative-based mental health promotion and other related projects on mHealth and health psychology. Specific tasks include participant recruitment, project management, survey design, conducting lab and online experimental studies, data maintenance and analysis, writing reports and summaries; * Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the development of research protocols, grant proposals, and research ethics applications; * Coordinate with collaborating organisations, including tech companies, clinics, and NGOs; * Keep track of budget and expenditures; and * Assist with the planning, implementation, and dissemination of research studies. Requirements: * A master’s degree or higher in communication, psychology, public health, or other social science-related disciplines; candidates with a PhD are highly preferred; * A passionate, self-motivated, and well-organised individual who possesses strong analytical and writing skills; * Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English, Cantonese, and Putonghua) to effectively collaborate with the research team; * Knowledge of data analysis and statistical software such as SPSS or R is necessary; * Experience in conducting psychology experiment or clinical trials is preferred; and * Experience and skills in AI technologies, mobile health applications, designing interactive stories, or virtual reality programs in Unity are a plus. The appointment will be offered on a 9-month or 12-month fixed-term contract. Re-appointment is available and subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
