Description

We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant for Sapienship.co and for Prof. Yuval Noah Harari.

The Research Assistant will join an interdisciplinary group of scholars, contributing to a diverse array of projects that include graphic novels and white papers. The ideal candidate will possess an extraordinary ability to engage with a broad spectrum of research areas and adeptly summarize peer-reviewed findings on topics ranging from ancient DNA to artificial intelligence. Additional qualifications include:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and an established organization.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Ph.D. or DPhil degree. We are willing to consider candidates with an MPhil or M.A. provided they havea proven track record of academic research or other publications.
  • Evidence of involvement in peer-reviewed academic scholarship. Special consideration will be given to candidates with an interdisciplinary research background.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
  • Excellent written English. Fluency in other languages is not required but will be viewed posi:vely.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires an individual with discretion, good judgment, and initiative.
  • The ability to read a wide range of sources and write reasoned and thoughtful analysis is a must.
  • On some days, this position will entail reviewing hundreds of footnotes. On other days it will involve generating ideas for innovative projects. The successful candidate will possess a mixture of meticulousness and imagination.
  • Evidence of high-quality writing, and a background in analysis, journalism, or creative writing is an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Drafting concise and up-to-date reports on a wide range of topics. Candidates will be asked to seek out nthe most current and reliable information and present it in an organized, easy to read, and accessible format.
  • Providing rigorous fact checking and verification of articles, books, scripts, and social media posts.
  • Assisting the Sapienship team in the production of accurate and engaging online educational content.
  • Collaborating with a team of researchers on the creation of original research documents intended toclarify the global conversa:on around humanity’s most pressing issues.
  • Updating references and ensuring high standards for sources and citations.
