REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Field Crop Pathology Program at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Technician IV to assist in managing both laboratory and field experiments. The program focuses on plant disease management in field crops, generating and analyzing pathology and genetic data from disease studies conducted under both controlled and field conditions. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting research efforts by providing technical expertise in the development and evaluation of disease management strategies. This includes working closely with researchers, industry partners, and students to ensure the successful execution of high-quality field and laboratory experiments. Additionally, the role involves effectively communicating research findings to scientific and technical staff within crop breeding and disease management programs.
This position is a two-year term appointment supported by a research grant administered by the University of Guelph. The Research Technician will report to the Principal Investigator and is expected to work with minimal supervision while maintaining collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
