Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Research Technician/Assistant to work within the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders, developing the human post-mortem and surgical resections tissue resource. As a member of the Centre the post-holder will be working in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in Guy’s campus.
About the role
The candidate will provide logistical, technical and organisational support for the generation and maintenance of human clinical samples that adhere to both Guys and St Thomas (GSTT) NHS Trust governance and Human Tissue Act (HTA) guidelines. They will be responsible for both the scientific support of the tissue resource and the co-ordination of sample collection, data management and tissue processing and storage. The post-holder would also be expected to have an active role in existing research studies and in the development of new research. They will be highly motivated, approachable and able to proactively liaise with a variety of professional figures within the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
Applicants should have a strong background in clinical and/or neuroscience research.
This is a full-time role and you will be offered an fixed term contract until 31/10/26.
