Job Summary The Research Projects & Academic Outreach Department (RP&AO) at the Getty Research Institure (GRI) is looking for a technologically-savvy and academically-oriented individual to serve as a research assistant, working broadly across all functional areas of the department. RP&AO oversees and manages the GRI’s research agenda, including a suite of multi-year collaborative research projects. The department also oversees a collection of programs that grow and sustain our relationships with academic institutions, and generate new materials in support of research and teaching. The research assistant will work with us on both research projects and academic outreach in terms of researching content, as well as planning, execution, and follow-up on our programs. We are especially interested in working with someone who can help us with impact-related research: publicizing our signature events, activities, and outcomes – such as the Getty Graduate Symposium, and our ongoing Faculty Curriculum Workshops – across multiple communication channels; tracking their impact via viewership, downloads, surveys, etc.; preparing reports and documentation showing the reach of our activities; and participating in institution-wide conversations on user research. Major Job Responsibilities Participate in and assist with gathering, maintaining, editing, and disseminating materials related to the GRI’s research agenda Contribute to the department’s intern program and academic outreach events through research, planning, development, execution, and outreach Contribute to a communications strategy about department activity, as well as tracking and documenting the impact of this activity Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in art history, communications, or a related field; Master’s degree or some graduate work preferred 0-2 years research experience (education may be considered) Strong skills in gathering, manipulating, evaluating, and presenting qualitative and quantitative data Please note: This position is not eligible for employer-based immigration sponsorship.
