Job Description
The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to conduct advanced research on fines migration and its implications for hydrocarbon recovery and reservoir management. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to scientific advancements in the field of petroleum reservoir engineering. Key Responsibilities • Conduct experimental and theoretical studies on fines migration in porous media, including its impact on permeability, formation damage, and oil recovery. • Develop models and simulations to predict fines behavior under various reservoir conditions. • Design and execute laboratory experiments to investigate fines mobilization, deposition, and control mechanisms. • Analyze data and interpret findings to generate high-quality research outputs. • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
Minimum Qualification
Education: • MSc in Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related field. Technical Expertise: • Strong background in fines migration, formation damage, or reservoir engineering. • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., core flooding apparatus, particle analyzers). • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software and computational modeling tools. Research Skills: • Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
